“Coaching has always been a big part of my life…”
From my first job as a tennis camp instructor to training players on the WTA and ATP tour. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with so many wonderful athletes and help them achieve their goals. Tennis provides me with an avenue to teach something I love while helping players grow as competitors and people.
Jay Barlow is a Tennis Canada Level 3 Coach with over 20 years of teaching experience. His strong passion for the sport began as a youngster at Huntington Park Tennis club in Hamilton, where his grandmother was one of the founding members. The desire to play year round led him to Rosedale Tennis Club where he trained for 5 seasons, then on to McMaster University where he captained the men’s varsity team. A full time transition to coaching followed, propelling him to integral roles at several leading tennis academies.
Born and raised in Hamilton, ON where he currently lives with his wife and two children. Jay is also a level 2 coach with Hockey Canada. He is the youngest of 3 boys, earning his stripes from countless battles at the rink and on the courts. When he isn’t coaching or working towards his “dad of the year” title, he enjoys fishing and exploring the back country of Northern Ontario.
